ROYAL DECREES & PROCLAMATIONS

  • Funding for the Crown
    In a decree issued on 14 February 2025, Her Majesty the Queen has granted N£5,968.70 to fund the Crown’s official and ongoing activities. This allocation will strengthen various royal initiatives and public engagements in the coming months.

  • Upcoming Exchequer Report
    The Secretariat of the Exchequer has confirmed that its report for 2025 will be published on 18 February 2025. It is estimated nearly N£100,000 will be dedicated to the ongoing functioning of Her Majesty’s Government.

  • Statement of Condolence
    The Queen issued a solemn message of condolence on 14th of February following the announcement of the murder of Monsieur Sam Nordquist, a transgender man, in Canandaigua, New York.

ROYAL EVENTS & COURT CIRCULAR

  • National LGBTQ Task Force Creating Change Conference
    From 21–26 January, Her Majesty attended the annual Creating Change Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada (United States). There, she represented equalpride—the nation’s leading LGBTQ+ media company—where Her Majesty serves as a Columnist & Community Editor. The Queen delivered remarks on inclusivity, community building, and the importance of global engagement.

  • Royal Congratulations to the Swedish Royal Court
    On 10 February, The Queen sent a statement of celebration to the Swedish Royal Court on the birth of King Carl XIV Gustaf’s granddaughter, Ines. Her Majesty expressed warm wishes on behalf of the Kingdom of Navasse.

 

NATIONAL NEWS

  • Corporate Sole Updated
    The Secretariat of State announced plans on 8 February 2025 to change the Corporate Sole to La Couronne Royale de la Navasse (The Royal Crown of the Navasse). The process will transfer all assets to the new entity, which will continue to serve as The Crown.

WORLD NEWS

  • Donald J. Trump Inaugurated as 47th U.S. President
    On 20 January, Donald J. Trump was inaugurated, marking his second tenure as President of the United States. He quickly initiated his “Make America Great Again” agenda through multiple Executive Orders—ranging from ending Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies to rolling back certain protections for transgender Americans.

  • Department of Governmental Efficiency (DOGE)
    Under President Trump’s new administration, Elon Musk leads the newly formed DOGE with an aim to optimize bureaucratic processes and cut costs for U.S. taxpayers. Some observers have praised the moves, while others question his role in reorganizing the government, going so far as to file lawsuits on his actions.

  • Trump and Tariffs Imposed on China
    Following threats on Canada and Mexico, which resolved in negotiations, Trump imposed a levy tax on China. The latest move is part of Trump’s economic policy of using tariffs as reinforce domestic and foreign policies, from accepting refugees to border control. Meanwhile, Trump announced a new tariff on steel and aluminum imports, levying a 25% tax. Economists predict potential retaliation and further strain on global trade relations.

  • Palestine–Israel Temporary Peace Agreement
    In January, Palestine and Israel reached a temporary agreement to end hostilities in Gaza. As part of this accord, Hamas initially returned several Israeli and foreign hostages. However, by 10 October, Hamas began postponing further hostage exchanges, complicating the fragile peace process.

  • Organisation de la microfrancophonie (OMF) Leadership Challenges
    The OMF reports discord within its membership ranks, prompting several resignations from its membership. Navasse continues to hope for a resolution that will promote cooperation and unity among microfrancophone states.

  • Government Closure: Women’s Day
    Official government business will be suspended on 8 March in observance of Women’s Day. Citizens are encouraged to celebrate and uplift the contributions of women across the Kingdom.

  • Honorary Consuls Still Sought
    The Secretariat of Foreign Affairs is seeking applications for Honorary Consuls in Miami (U.S.) and London (U.K.). Prospective candidates should demonstrate strong community ties and a dedication to representing Navassa’s interests abroad.

  • Ambassador to the OMF
    The Secretariat of Foreign Affairs is also seeking an Ambassador to the Organisation de la microfrancophonie (OMF). Fluency in French is required, and candidates must possess a keen diplomatic mindset to help foster strong ties within the OMF.

  • Call for Submissions
